Meet Our Staff

Steve Kromer

Senior Pastor

I’ve been the senior pastor here at New Hope since January, 2012.

I came to know Christ at the age of 13 at New Hope while it was still located along Main Street in Dayton, PA and received my calling into ministry in the summer of 2003.

At that time, I began my preparation for this calling by attending the Biblical Life Institute in Slate Lick, PA and then continued my education via coorespondance courses, as my family grew, with the Bible Extension Institute of the Evangelical Church Alliance, in cooperation with Global University. In June of 2009, I received my credentials as a licensed minister with the ECA and transferred my credentials to the Assemblies of God in 2013. I am currently taking courses through Global University to become an ordained minister.

Before becoming senior pastor, I had worked full time from 2001-2006 at Omnitech Partners, Inc. as an electronics technician for various night vision projects with the Department of Defense and from 2006 – 2012 as a network technician and then lead software developer for Diamond Pharmacy and Sapphire Health. I’m definitely a technology guy and this shines through my ministry as well.

I married my wife, Becky, in October 2003 and we’ve been ministering together ever since. Our first church home together was Faith Community Church in Freeport, PA where we have served together in many areas of church ministry and leadership. Our focus ministry, however, was on reaching the younger generation via youth ministry.

God has also blessed us with three beautiful children: Nathaniel in 2005, Megan in 2006, and Bethany in 2007.

We can’t wait to see what God has in store for us here at New Hope in the coming years!
